Operators of E-cons....

  • Advertise non-existent goods or services.
  • Give false descriptions.
  • Mislead you over prices.
  • Sell dangerous goods.
  • Supply 'adult' material, with no means of ensuring the customer is in fact over 18.
  • Don't give a genuine name and address.
  • Operate from abroad, but conceal this with an English-sounding e-mail address.
  • Don't tell you about importation duties or carriage charges.
  • Take your credit card or bank details via an unsecure site - they could be used fraudulently.
  • Supply you with goods other than those advertised.
  • Fail to deliver on time, or at all, or supply something different to what was ordered.
