'FREE' holidays....
offered
as an enticement to attend a timeshare or 'holiday club' presentation.
The presentation, which is usually held a prestigious hotel or similar
venue, involves several hours of hard-sell by experienced sales staff
who are determined to get you to part with your money.
You are often offered all
kinds of incentives to sign on the dotted line there and then e.g. special
'today only' prices, cheaper flights, accommodation in exotic places
or other holiday services - most of which never materialise.
Be very wary of attending
either a timeshare or a holiday club presentation as you will be subjected
to pursuasive, hard-sell sales tactics from experienced sales staff
that are out to get you to part with your money. Also, it is not advisable
to join any holiday scheme that does not allow a 10-day cooling-off
period in which you can cancel the agreement as required under current
timeshare law.
